Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is a protocol used to transfer data between different Internet providers in case one goes down and is one of the key protocols used to achieve Internet connection redundancy and network optimisation.
ISO 27001 Certified
ISO/IEC 27001 is the best-known standard providing requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). An ISMS is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure. This includes people, processes and IT systems by applying a risk management process to manage the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to you by third parties.
Multiple Standby Backup Generators
Standby generators are back-up electrical systems that operate within seconds of a power failure they then begin supplying power to data centre until grid electric power returns whereby they return to standby mode where they await the next power outage. The standby generators runs regular self-tests to make sure they are always ready to run in the case of power failure.
Stulz Advanced Cooling
This is a state-of-the-art air conditioning unit which is used to cool the data centre server racks.
The system uses innovative technology and high-quality components leading to minimal energy consumption. It has the following features:
- C7000 controller for controlling and monitoring the air conditioning system.
- Six temperature sensors for controlled precision climate cooling in three discrete horizontal areas.
- The GE system switches from Compressor mode to Indirect Free Cooling as soon as the outside air temperature permits.
- If a fan fails, the other two will speed up.
- Monitoring and reports for all faults.
- Standard RS-485 serial port for connection to BMS using Modbus and STULZ protocols.
2N+1 Energy Efficient Riello UPS system
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is hardware that provides emergency power if the mains electricity fails. It will provide almost instant protection from power failures by supplying energy stored in batteries and super-capacitors.
PUE of < 1.3
PUE stands for Power Usage Effectiveness.
PUE is how efficiently a data centre uses its electricity i.e. how much power is used in running the computing power within the data centre instead of cooling and other related overheads (e.g. lighting). PUE was developed by a consortium called The Green Grid and a PUE of 1.0 equals the highest level of data centre energy efficiency. After all, we don't want to ruin the planet just so you can have the highest performing hosting!
ISO 27001 Certification
To prove that the data centre has the strictest security measures in place, it is formally certified to the internationally accepted global Information Security Management System standard ISO 27001. However, they endeavour to go beyond this and have additional measures in place to really enforce the security and safety of our hosting.

As well as taking wide-ranging technical measures to keep servers and software safe from cyber-attacks, the data centre also has extensive physical security controls. They systematically examine the information security risks within their organisation and take account of the threats, vulnerabilities and possible effects, all backed up with on-going processes to ensure the controls are adequate, maintained and effective.
